History and Rise of the OSI Group

The OSI Group is a globally operating meat processor directing things from its international office in Aurora, Illinois. The corporation has over a hundred sights across the globe and employees more than 20 000 people. The OSI Group has a variety of products such as pork and bacon, poultry, hot dogs, meat patties, frozen pizza, vegetable products, and dough.

The plants across the United States f America are brought under the name OSI Industries LLC. There are several of them in Chicago and the rest of Illinois, Iowa, Utah, Wisconsin, and California. The total number of facilities exceed 65 and are established across 17 countries around the world including North America, countries in the Western and Eastern Europe, as well across the Asia-Pacific region. The largest clients of the OSI Grop are the Pizza Hut, Subway, McDonald and Burger King, a well as Papa John’s Pizza and Starbucks, to name a few.

Over the decades of business, the OSI Group has expanded considerably and has made many successful acquisitions. Some of the more popular ones are those of the Baho Foods and the Tyson Food Plant, as well as the Flagship Europe. The OSI Group recently completed an expansion in Toledo, Spain which strengthened their presence in Europe. The new factory also opened some job spaces bringing the employees to 160 there.

Mr. David McDonald serves as President and Mr. Sheldon Lavin as the Chief Executive Officer of the global corporation. Mr. Sheldon Lavin had a large role to play in the growth of the OSI Group. He has been with the company for many a decade and was the one who took leadership after the family that started it stepped away from the corporation.

Mr. Sheldon Lavin used to handle the legal matters for the company for many years. He worked with the former leaders of the business and grew a strong interest towards how the company is handled and its vast potential. The corporation of OSI Group has a long history started all the way back in 1909. It was established by a German immigrant who opened business in Chicago and called it Otto’s Meat Market.

Later, his sons also started working in the business which had grown and moved the location to another part of Chicago. The business changed the name as well and became Otto & Sons. The first major client was McDonald’s which was only a small food chain across one city.
